Hi Mcbloggies!
We’re back with part 2 of Matt & Ali’s engagement shoot – we left Dodger Stadium & drove to Union Station, changed up the scenery & the outfits. There were like 5 other shoots going on that day at Union station, so we did our best to find our own spots.
I like this next one because I think Ali looks all model-esque with her expression. I also said I’d share some fun facts today since I kept the writing minimal yesterday so as not to spoil any surprises. Every time I type Ali’s name I want to type “Ali-all-star,” because that’s the funny nickname I gave her in high school. I can’t exactly remember why…maybe because her basketball team always beat ours (and we were older =/)
I met Matt when he was a freshman or sophomore in high school – I was a a senior I think, leading a team of students for a missions trip in Mexicali. It was a rough week, but Matt was up for serving in any way he could. Later, all 3 of us went to UCSD together too! It has been said that if you close your eyes & listen to both Ali & I talk, that you can’t tell our voices apart. I guess it’s true, but it’s weird because no one pointed that out when we grew up in church together – it wasn’t noticed until we were both in college!
We drove a little way down from the station and found this awesome green wall – we were all starting to feel worn out from our full double date day so we kept it quick!
Matt & Ali, thanks for the great day in LA! A Dodgers win, Dodger dogs & garlic fries, all of your great ideas & planning for the date, and fun pictures to top it all off. You two were troopers & worked hard too =) Thanks for not only including us in your celebration, but for the privilege it’s been to watch your relationship grow. Ali, you’ll continue to be “Ali-allstar” to me, & I’m so thankful that you asked me out to be your discipler in college. =) Hope we were able to capture the story of your day – can’t wait to celebrate with you two in August!

Hi Christie,
I read your blog from time to time here in South Korea. I love all the pictures, and I want to wish you, Micah, and Landon a very happy life together. I think about you and your parents often. Take care and best wishes always.
Sincerely,
Earl Shafkin
