Hey Friends!

Happy MLK day!  As promised, I have two big announcements for today.

As some of you know I’ve been a full-time pastor for the past 10 years.  Over the past 8-9 years I’ve also been battling mild depression, however, I didn’t really do anything about until a little over a year ago.  There’s no shame on my end sharing about depression, there shouldn’t be.  The truth is that we are all broken people, this is merely one of the many symptoms of my brokenness.  Long story short, during some prayer time this past Decemeber, the Lord led me to step away from full-time ministry to pursue wholeness and mending.  It was a big decision because ministry has been my (& Christie’s) rhythm of life for the past decade.  Although I’m a little sad, but I’m also hopeful because I’m confident I heard from the Lord.  I formally stepped down January 1, 2017, so if you’re the praying-kind we’d love your prayers for our family in this season.  That’s the first big announcement!

The second big announcement has to do with the fact that I now have a little more time on my hands.  =)  That means that we have more space to devote to our photography this year!  To kick off this new season, we are going to give a “high five” to the next five couples to book a wedding with us for 2017.  What is a “high five,” you ask?  We will take off $500 from our wedding package.  If you are planning a wedding or know of a friend, shoot us an email with “High Five” in the subject line and let’s connect!

And because everything is better with pictures, here’s a shot of my girls in Joshua Tree.  Love this image because there is both fear and excitement in the eyes of my baby girl.  I’m feeling the same way.
